68 Levies men desert in Orakzai

KALAYA: About 68 personnel of the Levies Force quit their job on Thursday following threats by the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Orakzai Agency chapter. Sources said the TTP Orakzai chapter had threatened the Levies personnel to quit their jobs within 15 days, or face consequences. It was reported that 25 personnel belonging to Mamozai tribe and 43 hailing from Aakhel tribe quit their services and handed over their official arms and belts to the political authorities. On the other hand, the Levies personnel of other tribes of Orakzai Agency called a jirga to chalk out future line of action in this regard.
