Price hike in POL products challenged in SC

ISLAMABAD: A constitutional petition was filed in the Supreme Court on Thursday, challenging the recent hike in prices of petroleum products, praying for suspending the notification through which the POL prices were jacked up.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on June 30 issued a notification, through which the POL prices had been increased. The petition was filed by PML-N Secretary-General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra through Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry, advocate, under Article 184(3) of the Constitution, making the Federation as respondent.
